What Our Students Say
Had a blast. Great course with a great teacher. It was an unreal 8 weeks and I’ve learnt so much. I appreciate what you did during those 8 weeks and so happy with the progression I have made. That’s a credit to you so thank you!
I really wanted to understand how the beats are made. And this course came up, and it was the perfect start for me to understand how Hip Hop beats are made, the science behind it and the equipment used. It will only just make my skill and my craft better. We really just got hands - on, and me as a guy that has never made a beat before in my life, I had a blast, man.
Jason was my first contact before I made the move from India to Australia to study a Bachelor's Degree in Audio. He was very helpful and has always been a great mentor/teacher, always up for experimenting with audio gear and sound, and coming up with great creative ideas.
Great guy overall, very comfortable to be around. He'll patiently answer all your questions, really making sure you understand the concepts well.
Jason de Wilde is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He happily shared his experiences with me, helping me become the sound engineer I am today. When studying Sound Engineering, I frequently got to take part in recordings with him that where outside of school work. His joy in teaching and sharing knowledge will definitely help you become a better engineer.
I had the pleasure of being taught by Jason de Wilde whilst studying a Bachelor of Music in Audio Engineering.
Jason has a great ability to break down complex topics and to facilitate learning clearly and practically. Jason’s real-world approach and genuine nature gave me, not only the opportunity to learn but to be mentored throughout my studies and into the professional workforce and the world of Audio Engineering.
Jason de Wilde is one of the few truly passionate educators in Australia's music and audio industry. With his vast knowledge and experience in our beloved medium - it is the energy and enthusiasm Jason exudes that I found most inspiring. As a former pupil - I am indebted.
One of the most difficult things to do in life is to start. Jason de Wilde pushed me from being excited about the idea of being an Audio Engineer, to being excited about the process of Audio Engineering. He gave me the tools and environment to cultivate my skills. Jason did an excellent job providing information, facilities, advice, and homework that helped me discover that what matters is that I take action to start somewhere; a valuable lesson to integrate into all aspects of my life.
Jason de Wilde was the first person I met on my audio education journey. From day 1, I knew that he wanted to help me succeed. He was able to help me gain the critical listening, technical and professional skills that are required to be a successful audio engineer. With his guidance, I was able to secure an internship position which led to paid work in a professional studio. This was the ’foot in the door’ into the music industry I needed. He provided opportunities for me as a new inexperienced audio student to get involved in studio projects and develop my practical skills. I also found that in his role as head teacher he was a great advocate for the students in his department and always worked to ensure their needs and concerns were addressed.
Jason de Wilde is like no other educator I have ever experienced. He has this unique ability to very quickly understand the individual capabilities of every person in the room, then make the lesson content work for everyone regardless of their current level. He knows how
to pull at threads to help you grow as a student (and as a person!), and is never afraid to take things to new extremes. What makes him exceptional however, is how he is able to create a well-defined and structured curriculum, so that you’re left with a comprehensive set of real-world applicable skills, making you a prime candidate for work in any premium studio around the world. I would recommend studying under Jason to anyone serious about audio and am excited to
hear the award-winning albums mixed by the next generation of his students.
